A letter from our Treasurer
Dear Friends,
I have recently taken over the role of church treasurer from Sam Gillespie and unfortunately my first task is to launch an appeal for funds.
Although offerings are up over 4% on the same period last year we are still significantly below the budgeted figure of 10%.
In addition to this shortfall there has also been some major spend this year which has put a severe strain on our financial resources despite the excellent efforts of the Fundraising Group.
I do appreciate that this appeal comes in the lead up to the Christmas period; however the decision to launch an appeal at this time has not been taken lightly - there was much discussion at the Congregational Board before it was decided to go down this route.
As a result an appeal has now been launched running over a 4 week period to raise funds to help strengthen our financial position.
Thanking you in anticipation of your continued support.
Best wishes
Richard Gibson
Treasurer
